A proudly South African brand, ALL GOLD JAM has always been a family favorite! My granny swore by All Gold smooth apricot jam. She loved the fruity taste so much she used it in her baking. She made the most delicious hertzoggies for Sunday tea-time. It’s one of the things I miss most about her!
I recently discovered that women feel self-conscious about eating alone in public. This really surprised me!
I have to confess that I habitually do things alone including watching films and dining out. Based on recent conversations, many women don’t feel as comfortable doing these things by themselves. [Read more…]
In keeping my children safe, I try to stay off the roads with them at night. If we need to be out, I’d rather leave earlier than travel on the road with them after dark. It’s one of the things that gives me huge anxiety. [Read more…]
For Joshua’s 10th Birthday we celebrated with a Movie Night Party! Joshua’s birthday falls right at the start of the Winter season. Our city of Cape Town is nothing if not over the top so we’re always getting either a storm or freezing cold temperatures! Either way, our choices for birthday parties are limited to the indoors. We couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy the cosy weather than PJ’s and movies!
This Favorite things gift idea just elevated me to best sister ever status! When we celebrated my sister’s 25th birthday I was stumped on what to get her. She needed a very special gift because in our family we jokingly refer to her as “The Princess” and this was to be her “jubilee” celebration.
Also because last year I totally sucked on her birthday. I’d just had dental surgery and was in no mood to celebrate. I only ended up putting her belated birthday gift under the Christmas tree in December! She has never let me forget it!
It’s not everyday you get to be on the Expresso Show on national television!
A few weeks ago I wrote a post about why I was getting involved in the #MothersDayConnect, hosted by Cape Town Embrace. It happened this past Mother’s Day and was a huge success! Julie Mentor (instigator and campaign Co-ordinator) and I were invited to report back on it on the SABC 3 Expresso Breakfast show!
We were so thrilled to be able to show photos and talk about the campaign to such a wide national audience. It was such a great platform to raise awareness for the campaign looking ahead to Mother’s Day Connect 2018!
At 24, I was planning my first ever overseas trip and motherhood was not even on my radar! Our son turns 10 next month. When I think of my life ten years ago, I am truly astounded by how completely motherhood changed me. [Read more…]
In the mommy blogger world we’ve been having a bit of fun. We’re sending around a tag called #RockingMotherhood. How it works is that if you’re tagged, you’re it. You will then need to tell us how you are rocking motherhood!
Fun? Yes! Awkward? Absolutely! But it’s my turn so here goes…
Have you ever visited a new church by yourself? I did that today!
I wanted to experience a more local church so I did some online recon for churches in my area.I discovered that in my suburb we have many denominations represented! One that stood out for me was the Friend of God church. It’s a smaller version of the multi-campus church I am used to. [Read more…]
I’m slightly obsessed with this pretty butterfly crochet rug! It was my weekend project to decorate Alex’s room with and it turned out to be pretty easy and such a pleasure to make! [Read more…]
