My 10-minute makeup routine for busy mornings

If you habitually sleep through your alarm like I do, you don’t have a lot of time in the mornings to apply your makeup. You need a makeup routine that is quick and easy for busy mornings.

I run out of time in the mornings too! That’s why I’ve perfected my makeup routine for everyday wear. My everyday makeup routine will have you looking fresh and fabulous in under 10 minutes!

Before you begin your makeup routine, it’s important to start with cleansing and moisturizing your face. I like to I get dressed and style my hair after this to give the moisturizer a chance to dry.

Now you’re ready for makeup!

My 10-minute makeup routine
These are some of my favorite beauty products for everyday makeup

Fresh & simple – A super fast makeup routine

Step 1

Apply a bit of concealer below your eyes. Apply it with your little finger by dabbing a drop and lightly tapping your skin to spread. This will cover any dark shadows that are visible beneath your eyes.

I like the Woolworths concealer in the Medium shade.

Step 2

Apply your foundation. I like to use a primer first as a base for my foundation but it’s not essential as you can apply foundation directly to your skin too.

Whether you use a brush applicator, sponge or your finger, start at your target areas and work outwards.

My foundation is applied very lightly with my fingertips by tapping it all over my face.

Step 3

Use a big makeup brush to apply a bit of pressed powder all over your face. It makes the foundation last a bit longer.

Step 4

Lightly apply your blush to the apples of your cheekbones. I love the Essence Silky Touch blush as it’s affordable and very subtle. Even if you apply your blush with a heavy hand (like me) it will still look subtle!

Step 5

Most people only apply mascara to their upper lashes. According to Heybeautybae , this is a common but big mistake. Mascara should also be applied on your lower lashes to make your eyes look more intense.

My two top choices for the ultimate mascara is the Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara and the Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara.

You can also apply eyeliner if you have enough time and a steady hand.

Step 6

As a final step, apply your preferred shade of lipstick. Applying it with your fingers will give you a longer-lasting lip stain.

This super quick and very basic 10-minute makeup routine will leave you looking polished, fresh and ready to face the day!

Fresh Makeup

If you have a few extra minutes to spare you can compliment this basic makeup look with eye shadow, eyebrow pencil, etc. On most days the mascara and eyeliner is all I need as long as my skin has a nice fresh and dewy finish.

    1. Hi Karin, for melasma you would need to spend a bit more time to cover as the average concealer (like the one mentioned in my post) is not enough to cover the discoloration.
