House Rules

House Rules (When I am in charge)

House RulesEvery so often, our kids will say something incredibly cute! We had one of those proud moments just a few days ago when our 9 year old brought his creative writing class assignment home.

In third grade our son’s creative writing book comes home once a week for parent signatures and comments on progress.  His class teacher insists on us only writing encouraging words in their books. She says the criticism and guidance will come from her if necessary. We write comments like “keep up the good work”, “neat handwriting this week” or “very imaginative stories, keep them coming!”.

It was during our weekly read through his creative writing book that we found the most hilarious class assignment called “House Rules (When I am in charge)“.

He had told me about this assignment but never shared what he had written. My husband and I had such a good giggle that evening and we really enjoyed this little peek into our son’s imagination!

House Rules, as told by our 9 year old son…

  1. I will drive my dads cars.
  2. I’ll watch TV from 08:00am to 02:00am.
  3. I will jump on the bed.
  4. Have waffles for lunch.
  5. Do not go to school forever.
  6. Make R100 a day.
  7. Go to sleep at 06:00am.
  8. Play games all day.
  9. Dad must clean my room.

Is that not the cutest thing ever? You should ask your kids the same…what house rules would they have if they were in charge?
